As we step into 2025, we reflect with pride on our 47 years of dedication to tailoring and the relationships that define our legacy. From humble beginnings, our journey has been shaped by a commitment to tradition, quality, and the people who share our passion for impeccable menswear.
In 1978, Arthur Der Shahinian, a young and ambitious immigrant, opened his first boutique on Jean-Talon Street in Little Italy—Montreal’s equivalent of Savile Row of the day. In a vibrant community of skilled tailors, Arthur established himself as one of the best bespoke shirtmakers in town, earning a reputation for craftsmanship and vision.
By the 1990s, he expanded into bespoke suiting and relocated to a beautiful shop on Crescent Street, offering clients a complete wardrobe solution, including luxurious accessories for the discerning gentleman.
A Family Tradition, Carried Forward
In 2005, Arthur’s sons, David and John, officially joined the business, continuing the family’s dedication to custom tailoring. Having grown up around the craft and learning its intricacies directly from their father, they brought new energy to the business. Their hands-on experience under Arthur’s mentorship instilled in them a deep respect for the art of tailoring and the values of precision and quality that define the family’s legacy.
In 2011, the family expanded the boutique into a larger space next door, blending the timeless charm of London with a modern twist. This move marked a new chapter of growth and success, solidifying the boutique as a destination for those who value exceptional tailoring.
In 2021, we faced the profound loss of our founder, Arthur Der Shahinian, whose vision and passion continue to inspire everything we do. His legacy lives on through the values he instilled in us and the trust our clients place in our craft.
